District Three Pothole Program First in City's History

In August of this year, Councilember Atkins joined with the San Diego-Imperial Counties Labor Council to kick off the District Three
Pothole Program. The first of its kind in the City's history,
the program will enable us to fill potholes quicker with the
help of apprentice laborers from the Labor Council.

Councilmember Atkins was able to fund this program with some of the District Three infrastructure funds allocated during the Fiscal Year 2002 budget deliberations. The program is being done in collaboration with the City's Street Division, which provided the truck, and the San Diego-Imperial Counties Labor Council, who are providing the apprentice labor. This is a true team effort.

The goal of the program is to fill 300 potholes during the three-month program.

To report a pothole for filling, call 619/527-7500.
