Partial Assistance Rent Subsidy (PARS): 295-5348)

What About Tenants' Rights?

Neighborhood House Association: to speak to a counselor
call 263-7761

Fair Housing Council of San Diego: 699-5888
Works to eliminate unlawful housing discrimination through
outreach and education. Receives complaints on discrimination,
investigates the complaints and, when appropriate, forwards
them to an attorney or an enforcement agency.

Have I been evicted?
When a landlord tells you it's time to move on, there is a process:
1. They hand you either a 3-day or a 30-day notice.
This is not legally an "eviction notice."
2. If the tenant refuses to vacate the premises, the property
owner may serve them with an eviction notice, which is a court
document, and has an exact date by which the tenant must vacate.
