| Amy Benjamin joined the Third District staff in October, 2007 as a Policy Advisor on Land Use and Planning issues. She is also the representative for the Uptown Area. |
| Amy previously worked for San Diego Housing Commission for two years in the Resident Services Department and two years in the Policy and Public Affairs Department. In her most recent role as a Senior Policy Analyst, she was involved with the initiation and execution of affordable housing policy issues such as Inclusionary Housing, Density Bonuses, Condominium Conversions and Single Room Occupancy Hotels. |
| Prior to the Housing Commission, Amy worked for several local non-profits managing homeless shelter programs and programs for victims of domestic violence, and has been active in the homeless and affordable housing community for the past seven years
Amy moved to San Diego from the Philadelphia area in 1998 after she graduated college with a B.S. in Psychology and a concentration in Spanish. She is currently pursing her Master’s Degree in Public Administration with a concentration in Urban Planning at San Diego State University.
