| Cheli serves as the Third District
office manager and executive assistant to both Councilmember Atkins
and Chief of Staff Denise Z. Price. She handles office administration
and scheduling as well as managing our community and office volunteers
and interns.
Previously the Third District Council Representative for City Heights and Normal
Heights, Cheli took over the council district office administration
in January 2003.
Cheli is originally from Brawley, California, and moved to San Diego
in 1985 to attend the University of California San Diego (UCSD). She
spent 10 years in non-profit social services, and her professional
background includes program development, volunteer management, crisis
intervention, HIV/AIDS prevention and education, fund-raising, and
special events.
Cheli, her partner Nancy, and their newly adopted daughter Brianna,
live in North Park. They share their home with Abbey, their Scottish
Terrier, and Claudia, their pug.
